UGM organizes basic training for administrative staff to strengthen individual capacity, followed by an evaluation at the end of the training period. Various topics are delivered by speakers during the training, including “Why Become UGM Administrative Staff?”, “Actualizing UGM Values in the Workplace”, and “Becoming Employees with Character and Inspiring Change”. In the third topic, there is a discussion on staff adaptation to climate/environmental changes (sustainability), including changes in environmental and social aspects. Staff members also receive training on the prevention and awareness of sexual violence within the campus environment. At the Faculty of Economics and Business, online courses on mental disorders and suicidal behavior are also provided, along with Psychological First Aid skills training for staff.

There are four topics covered:
- Health Literacy 1: Prevention of Stress Eating and Substance Abuse (Duration: 15–20 hours)
- Health Literacy 2: Sexual and Reproductive Health (Duration: 20–25 hours)
- Health Literacy 3: Prevention of Sexual Violence (Duration: 20–25 hours)
- Health Literacy 4: Mental Health (Duration: 20–25 hours)
After completing this course, students will receive a certificate.
Furthermore, to support the implementation of KKN, field supervisors (DPL) also receive specialized training organized by the Directorate of Community Service (DPKM) for two days. This training aims to strengthen the role of DPL as educators who shape students’ perspectives in understanding social realities. The supervisors are provided with an in-depth understanding of the philosophy of KKN as an integration of academic learning and real-world problem solving in society, using interdisciplinary, participatory, and empowerment-based approaches. At the end of the session, field coordinators are required to take a post-test as part of the final assessment to fulfill the requirements for obtaining their certificates.

In addition, an Introduction to Sustainability course is available on the online UGM MOOC platform.
