UGM Rector Inaugurates Leadership Hall of Master of Management Study Program

UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., inaugurated the Leadership Hall building for the Master of Management Study Program (MM), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM on Tuesday (14/12). The arena building for MM UGM students is planned to facilitate the development of soft skills and a multifunctional arena for student leadership development, and an arena for activities of interest and talent in sports and the arts.

The building, which is behind the MM UGM campus, consists of a one-story building with ​​a 720 square meters area.

The Head of the MM FEB UGM study program, Hani Handoko, M.B.A., Ph.D., said that the leadership hall building is expected to facilitate MM students in honing leadership. “Our mission is to develop strategic business leaders. We hope that this building will serve as a place to hone students to become future leaders,” said Hani.

According to Hani, students will receive knowledge and develop leadership attitudes and character to become future leaders. “I think this facility is an integral part of leadership development at MM FEB UGM,” he said.

The Dean of FEB, Dr. Eko Suwardi, hopes that the leadership hall building can be used optimally by students like the central building which according to him is getting better and better seen because those who work there really illustrate their work in developing education to educate the lives of the nation’s children.

UGM Rector, Prof. Panut Mulyono, said that the university was very enthusiastic when the faculty and study programs facilitated students to hone their abilities to become potential leaders. “Leaders do not grow from textbook but sport activities also develop leadership because they learn to get ready to lose and win,” he said.

He appreciated MM FEB UGM for building facilities for students with a leadership hall building which is expected to be a place to gather and discuss.

The Rector said that throughout 2020, UGM had planned various steps to build various facilities for students to be active to grow and develop according to their interests and talents. He said the area to PKKH that is being restored is currently being built as a super creative hub for student activities to hone their leadership.

In addition, the Rector also explained that he recently inaugurated the Mardliyah Islamic Center as a place for developing the spiritual character of Muslim students. Furthermore, he planned the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) south area later as a place for non-Muslim students to worship and engage in religious activities.

“We are preparing the south of the FKG campus as a place for discussion and gathering of non-Muslim religions so that they can foster a sense of leadership and solidarity,” he said.
