UGM officially builds collaboration with Muhammadiyah Covid-19 Command Centre (MC3) in education, research, and community service, especially in handling Covid-19 by signing the collaboration agreement between both parties on Thursday (15/4) in UGM Balairung.
Prof. Paripurna, UGM Deputy Chancellor for Cooperation and Alumni, represented UGM in signing the agreement. Head of MC3, Dr. H. M. Agus Samsudin, also attended the event as MC3 representative. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with UGM. Since MC3 establishment last year, he had successfully collected more than Rp500 billion to be distributed for donation in the form of groceries, health facilities, and direct assistance for those affected by Covid-19. It is not only for handling Covid-19 but also dedicated to helping other emergencies such as disasters in Palu back then and more recently in Flores. “This is a form of Muhammadiyah’s sincere dedication for Indonesia,” he said.
The collaboration with UGM, according to him, potentially strengthened the Covid-19 handling in this country even more. He considered this collaboration as a collective effort to revive the economy’s community.
“Hopefully, this collaboration can continue even after the pandemic ends,” he said.
Paripurna also kindly welcomed this good intention. He hoped that later, this collaboration does not only include words written on the paper. He expected further and better collaboration for the future.
“Muhammadiyah, in our opinion, is the most established and structured organization that makes it easier for us to establish synergized collaboration in line with Tri Dharma values. Hopefully, this collaboration can be the solution for every problem, especially regarding the Covid-19 pandemic for the nation and country’s welfare,” he concluded.
