UGM promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and human rights through dedicated institutional structures, six on-campus houses of worship, and a PPKS Task Force for preventing and addressing sexual violence, all supported by regulations such as Rector’s Decree No. 1699/2016 and Rector’s Regulation No. 1/2020.

UGM offers comprehensive mentoring, counselling, and peer-support services—including online psychology counselling, support through the Gadjah Mada Medical Center, and faculty-based programs—to ensure students, staff, and faculty from underrepresented groups receive the guidance needed to succeed.

UGM provides disability-friendly facilities in all main buildings, this includes wheelchair-accessible ramps, disability-friendly restrooms, and passenger lifts. The university aims to always rehabilitate and improve campus infrastructure to accommodate students, staff, and faculty with disabilities.

UGM provides support services for people with disabilities. For prospective students wishing to take the entrance exams, the university accommodates headsets and screen reader programs for visually impaired test-takers. UGM also aims to accommodate disability-friendly facilities in all campus buildings, allow for curriculum integration, and specialised services provided by the Disability Services Unit under the Integrated Service Unit (ULT).

UGM provides targeted access and empowerment programs—such as mentoring, leadership development, UKM Peduli Difabel initiatives, and disability-focused occupational health and safety seminars—to support students with disabilities and promote broader disability awareness across campus.

UGM has anti-harassment policies that cover the university and all campus operations. These policies are mostly targeted at the prevention and handling of sexual violence, as outlined in Rector's Regulation Number 1 Year 2020. In addition, Rector’s Regulation Number 1 Year 2023 underscores Universitas Gadjah Mada's (UGM) commitment to preventing and addressing sexual violence within its academic environment.
