Universitas Gadjah Mada will hold an introduction and socialization of the Independent Learning-Independent Campus (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka, MBKM) activities for undergraduate and diploma students on Friday and Saturday, 6-7 August 2021. In the online seminar entitled Ayo Grebeg MBKM UGM, students join the Kampus Merdeka (Independent Campus) program launched by the government.
Kampus Merdeka is part of the Merdeka Belajar (Independent Learning) policy of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia. It provides opportunities for students to hone skills according to their talents and interests by going directly into the professional world as preparation for future careers.
Dr. Sigit Priyanta, the committee for this event, said that UGM undergraduate and diploma students would hopefully receive information from the Kampus Merdeka program through the two-day Grebeg MBKM UGM seminar. “Students will also receive information on the purposes of Kampus Merdeka and the programs offered by UGM as well,” said Sigit on Wednesday (4/8).
According to Sigit, the seminar will be opened by the Director General of Higher Education, Prof. Nizam, the Director General of Vocational Education, Dr. Wikan Sakarinto, and the Vice Chancellor for Education, Teaching, and Student Affairs, Prof. Djagal Wisoso Marseno. In addition, the seminar will present speakers who are managers of study programs in various faculties and directorates, and institutions within UGM.
Sigit said that from this socialization activity, students could find out how to register to join the MBKM program at UGM, from the academic administration process to various good practice activities from the MBKM program. “There are also sharing sessions from students who have participated in the MBKM program at UGM,” he explained.
