UGM Academic Hospital (RSA) and Gadjah Mada Medical Center (GMC) synergize with the Sleman District Health Office in implementing the vaccination program. In addition, RSA and GMC carry out vaccinations for the general public according to the priority targets set by the government. “Together with the Sleman Health Office, UGM RSA is committed to stopping the chain of Covid-19 transmission through vaccinations. We hope that the community will reach herd immunity and the pandemic will end soon,” said Director of Medical and Nursing Services at UGM RSA, Ade Febrina L., Monday (19/7). She explained that the UGM RSA had provided vaccination services to the public since 14 January 2021, with the first target directed at health workers.
Last June, UGM RSA and GMC were also involved in mass vaccination during the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Bhayangkara at Jogja City Mall and Sleman City Hall.
Mass vaccinations were also held at UGM from March to May, targeting the elderly and UGM members. The first vaccination was carried out on 20-21 March 2021 at Grha Sabha Pramana UGM with 2,681 elderly participants from UGM lecturers and education staff, communities around the UGM campus, and lecturers and education staff from universities in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
A week later, vaccinations were given to 7,321 lecturers and education staff. This activity received support from the medical personnel of UGM RSA, GMC, and RSUP Dr. Sardjito.
Ade added that until now, the UGM RSA is still providing vaccinations to the community according to the predetermined targets.
“Until now, UGM RSA still plays an active role in giving Covid-19 vaccinations to the community based on the priority targets set by the government,” she explained.
Meanwhile, GMC also started to provide vaccination services to the public this month for around 550 people. This target is in line with the direction of the Health Service, especially for Sleman residents or those who live in Sleman aged 12 years and over.
“People can register and ge their schedules on registervaccin.slemankab.go.id,” explained the Head of GMC, Yayuk Soraya.
Yayuk said GMC keeps coordinating with the Sleman Health Office regarding the requirements, flow, and targets for vaccination.
“With this accelerated vaccination program, the vaccine coverage target continues to be added every week. There are still changes in the flow and requirements because hopefully the vaccination process will be easy, fast, safe and comfortable for all levels of society,” she explained.
The public can check out information on the Covid-19 vaccine service at GMC on gmcugm.ac.id or Instagram @klinik_gmc. GMC also handles the pandemic through testing, tracing, and treatment, especially for patients undergoing independent isolation in shelters managed by UGM.
