As a part of the academic and global community, UGM presents a flagship program, Summer
Course. It is a program that could effectively gather international lecturers and students around the world to share their expertise, discuss and learn from others on certain thematic issues regarding sustainability. In the previous years, this program was conducted offline. Unfortunately, the outbreak of Covid-19 has been massively affecting the implementation of the learning process. Therefore, to adjust to the current situation, it is necessary to swiftly transform offline learning into an online learning platform. This innovation is applied to limit the activity which involves physical mobility and direct interactions without compromising the essential contents, output, and outcome of the learning process. The programs will ensure that both learning methods and COVID-19 precautionary measurements can be fulfilled.
In 2021, UGM offers several interdisciplinary summer course programs with various current topics. The main theme of these summer courses is “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs). Students from all over the world are encouraged to participate in these programs, as we are positive that students will not only gain knowledge from the theoretical point of view but also discuss and share insight about currents issues and the opportunity to get first-hand experiences from the experts of the related field.
