Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and PT. Bank Muamalat Indonesia, Tbk., agreed to establish cooperation in education, research and community service, and finance and banking.
The cooperation agreement was marked by the signing of a joint memorandum of understanding by the President Director of PT. Bank Muamalat Indonesia, Tbk., Achmad Kusna Permana and UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., IPU., ASEAN., Eng., online, on Friday (27/11).
On that occasion, symbolic assistance was also given to UGM students in the form of scholarships worth Rp. 249,000,000, and 12 laptop units worth Rp. 65,988,000 to students with disabilities. The assistance was provided by Baitul Mal Muamalat PT. Bank Muamalat Indonesia, Tbk.
President Director of PT. Bank Muamalat Indonesia, Tbk., Achmad Kusna Permana, welcomed the collaboration that had been mutually agreed. He hopes that the cooperation can go well and provide benefits for both parties.
“Hopefully, this cooperation can run smoothly,” he said.
Added Director of Baitul Mal Muamalat PT. Bank Muamalat Indonesia, Tbk., Novi Wardi, the assistance provided is expected to benefit students in helping to learn and improving achievement.
“Previously, in 2018 we had also distributed assistance to help renovate the UGM Vocational School prayer room and we hope that the cooperation can continue in the future,” he explained.
Meanwhile, UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., IPU., ASEAN., Eng., expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Bank Muamalat for the trust in collaborating and providing assistance to UGM. He hopes that the cooperation can be more robust and broader in the future so that it can offer more significant benefits for UGM and Bank Muamalat.
The provision of scholarships and laptops for UGM students, said Panut, is very helpful for UGM students in supporting their studies. The assistance provided is expected to inspire students to study harder and carry out various activities to support their studies.
“Thank you for the cooperation and I hope that the cooperation can be filled with broader activities, can advance their respective institutions, and encourage the acceleration of the nation’s progress,” he concluded.
