Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FKKMK) UGM held a charity event for Covid-19.
In the event entitled Medical Charity Concert (MERIDIAN), the faculty collaborated with Gadjah Mada Medical Alumni Family (KAGAMADOK), Dr. Sardjito Hospital, and UGM Academic Hospital.
Public Relation of FKKMK UGM, Dian Paramitasari, explained that MERIDIAN is an annual charity program held by FKKMK UGM. However, this year’s event was conducted with partners and raised a virtual concept for its fundraising and seminar.
“All ticket sales in MERIDIAN 2020 will be donated to frontline health workers and people affected by Covid-19 in the regions of Kalimantan, Papua, and Lombok,” she said in a release received on Friday (13/11).
Dian said this charity concert was dedicated to helping the community and medical workers at the front of the Covid-19 pandemic in Kalimantan, Lombok, and Papua through FK-KMK UGM alumni in these areas. Besides, it was also necessary to discern and outline the needs in the targeted regions related to funding needs, PPE, and logistics.
Next, develop science in seminars on Integrated Management of Autoimmune Diseases and Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Mental Health.
“We raised this topic because it is infrequently discussed while the disease number was increasing from year to year,” she said.
The series of MERIDIAN 2020 events begins with the Seminar Series on 7 and 8 November 2020, from 10:00 to 12:00, virtually with doctors, nurses, and nutritionists as sources.
Virtual charity concerts and talk shows will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at 9 am. 18.30-21.30 and broadcast live from the Auditorium of the Tahir Postgraduate Building FK-KMK UGM and enlivened by alumni and the Academic Community and Dr. Sardjito Hospital and UGM Academic Hospital.
This charity concert is also completed with a talk show about health philanthropy and the sharing of frontline medical workers and performances from various generations of alumni and the FK-KMK UGM community as the major concepts in this charity concert.
Hopefully, this activity enriches knowledge for seminar participants about the importance of multidisciplinary, interprofessional integrated handling. Besides this, it would also become a meeting place and FKKMK UGM alumni’s contribution to share the country’s morality and benefits.
