In the annual meeting of ASEAN Agricultural Engineering students online last August, the UGM team won 48 medals, including 15 gold medals, 27 silver medals, and six bronze medals. Not only that, but six best team awards were also earned, namely Best Video in the Green Energy category, Best Paper in the Green Energy category, Best Paper in the Agricultural Engineering category, People Choice Poster in the Agricultural Engineering category, Best Video in the Food category, and Best Poster in the Agricultural Engineering category.

The coordinator and supervisor of the UGM DTPB student team, Dr. Andri Prima Nugroho, said that DTPB UGM sent 24 student teams to the competition. The team was included in all competition categories, namely 23 paper titles, 19 posters, and seven videos.

“From the 24 teams that were deployed, they won a total of 48 medals from the poster, paper, and video categories,” he said on Tuesday (15/9).

Andri said that the 13 best papers obtained the opportunity to present their papers at the 2020 International Conference on Green Agroindustry and Bio-economy (ICGAB). Of the 13 best papers, 7 of them are from UGM. From the judges’ assessment, the UGM Dendrite team consisting of Aulia, Rizkiana, Saiffudin Afif and Nadia Muna Salma was selected to receive the Best Presenter award. They submitted a paper entitled Design of Plant Growth Prediction Model in Plant Factory with Artificial Neural Network.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Prof. Lilik Sutiarso expressed his appreciation to the students who had succeeded in bringing home achievements from the ARC 2020 event. Gratitude was also delivered to the accompanying lecturers who had supported students.

He said that most of the research in the competition was the result of the latest research in agricultural systems. The research is expected to later contribute to the development of science and technology and the agricultural sector in the country.
