UGM owns several UGM Official Housing. The Rector’s Regulation Number 7 of 2017 outlines provisions regarding the management, use, and maintenance of official housing provided by UGM for its employees and staff. The purpose of this regulation is to ensure that official housing is managed efficiently, utilised according to its intended purpose and supports employee welfare by providing adequate housing facilities.
The Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) built an apartment building for educators at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in Yogyakarta (KOMPAS.com – Apartment Building for UGM’s Educators). The apartment building, constructed in 2022 and set to begin operations in 2024, is at Gg. Kinanti, Barek RT12 RW57, Sinduadi, Mlati, Sleman, Yogyakarta 55284. The apartment building consists of 136 rooms, divided into three types: Family rooms: 40 rooms, Single rooms: 86 rooms, and Accessible rooms: 10 rooms. Each room is equipped with facilities such as a bed, dining table, coffee table, wardrobe, kitchen, and en-suite bathroom. Additional facilities outside the rooms include public area Wi-Fi, a prayer room (mushola), a shared lounge, elevators on every floor, and 24-hour security (Handover of the Kinanti 4 Apartment Building for UGM Lecturers and Staff). The Kinanti 4 apartment building is currently managed directly by Universitas Gadjah Mada Residence.
UGM offers employees an Employee Credit Program, a low-interest loan with flexible terms to assist in purchasing land, building homes, or renovating existing properties. It aims to enhance the welfare of UGM staff by facilitating homeownership and improving living conditions. The credit programs are the UGM Employee Housing Credit Program from Bank UGM, the UGM Employee Housing Credit Program from Bank BTN – Low Installment, and Multipurpose Credit with Low Interest from Bank Mandiri for UGM employees.
