Association of Study on Productive Livestock (HSTP), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) held a Poultry Day event.
The event was held on 21 September 2019 at a duck farm in Daplokan Village, Seyegan District, Sleman, Yogyakarta with the theme “A Day With A Duck”. It was intended to enhance knowledge of duck rearing management, especially for prospective veterinarians.
“This activity was joined by approximately 15 students, most of whom were Malaysian citizens and duck breeders from Daplokan Village,” said the Head of the HSTP Poultry division, Ridlo Gatit Wicaksono, in a release received on Friday (4/10).
Ridlo explained that in this event students had the opportunity to learn how to manage duck rearing directly from breeders. Apart from that, they also visited duck pens and made salted eggs. The pens are located in two places; the first one is owned by Suharjiyo with a capacity of about 400 ducks and the other has a capacity of around 1,000 ducks.
