Universitas Gadjah Mada does not tolerate any form of discrimination. This is clearly stated in the university’s Strategic Plan for 2022 – 2027 page 14:
“UGM promotes equality for all people by eliminating discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, marital status, disability, age, religion, social background, political affiliation, or minority group status (underrepresented minorities).”
Since 2024, UGM has strengthened its commitment to a safe and equitable campus environment by updating its Whistleblowing System (WBS) for Reporting Violations. The system serves as a secure channel for all members of the UGM academic community—including employees—to report any form of misconduct that may harm individuals or the university, threaten institutional integrity, or undermine ethical and inclusive practices. The UGM WBS is accessible at https://laporkan.ugm.ac.id.
Importantly, the WBS also functions as a formal mechanism for reporting discriminatory practices, ensuring that issues related to fairness, equality, and respectful treatment can be addressed promptly and appropriately. Reports that can be submitted through the WBS include, but are not limited to:
Abuse of authority, including corruption, collusion, or nepotism
Unethical behavior such as dishonesty, conflicts of interest, or providing misleading information
Gratification
Acts of harassment or discrimination
Through the WBS, UGM protects those reporting discrimination from educational or employment disadvantage. Employees who make a report through the WBS are guaranteed full confidentiality, including protection of their identity and safeguards against any form of retaliation. The platform also provides a centralized mechanism to ensure that all reports are followed up systematically and responsibly.
