3.3.1. Collaborations and Health Services

UGM advances health and well-being through active collaborations at local, national, and global levels, engaging in major health networks such as AHS, ICE–EBM, and IUCGH, participating in the AUN-HPN’s Health Promoting University initiative, and partnering with institutions like Dr. Yap Eye Hospital, RSUD Cilacap, and the Bengkayang Regency government.

3.3.2. Health outreach programmes

UGM delivers outreach programs and projects in the local community that address the pressing health issues still found in Indonesian communities such as stunting, maternal and neonatal health, non-communicable diseases, and dental and mental health. Our programs are delivered through dedicated community service by our students, faculty, and health experts.

3.3.3. Shared sports facilities

UGM provides extensive sports and recreational facilities accessible to the public, including Wisdom Park, the Lembah UGM Sports Centre and Fitness Center, Pancasila Stadium, Gadjah Mada Medical Center Fitness, outdoor jogging areas at Embung PIAT and GSP, and various faculty-managed sports facilities.

3.3.4. Sexual and reproductive health care services for students

UGM provides students access to sexual and reproductive health-care services including information and education services. Free access to the Gadjah Mada Medical Center (GMC) offers a variety of outpatient services, general medical consultations, and basic specialist services, including for sexual and reproductive health. Faculty Medical Rooms and First Aid units provide basic medical attention such as medication for menstrual pain and sanitary pads. As for charged access, the UGM Academic Hospital has an Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic. UGM’s Health Promoting University also offers a paid online course on Sexual and Reproductive Health.

3.3.5. Mental health support for students

UGM provides students with access to mental health support. The HPU team actively promotes mental well-being through workshops, training sessions, and awareness programs. Free mental health services include the Mental Health Service Unit, the Chatbot Lintang, mental health support at the Gadjah Mada Medical Center, the Crisis Center, and faculty-level career and mental health consultation services. For more specialized care, students may access paid services such as the Mental Health Clinic and licensed psychiatrists at UGM Academic Hospital.

3.3.6. Smoke-free policy

As a Health Promoting University, UGM enforces a Zero Tolerance for Drugs, Tobacco and Alcohol on campus. At UGM, creating health campus environment that is smoke-free requires a variety of programs, including strategies to protect against tobacco smoke by implementing and strengthening Smoke-Free Areas, advocacy networks to enforce Smoke-Free Areas, participation in the development and supervision of Smoke-Free Areas, and monitoring tobacco use and prevention efforts, such as holding campus community meetings to discuss smoking behaviour.

3.3.7. Mental health support for staff

UGM provides staff with access to mental health support. The HPU team actively promotes mental well-being through workshops, training sessions, and awareness programs.
