Alumni
UGM through KAGAMA Ecoprint Academy (KEA) initiated by Kagama Balikpapan introduced ulin wood as an endemic plant of Kalimantan as an alternative natural dye for textiles to the entire archipelago. Various training events, exhibitions and fashion-shows of ecoprint products in East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and Jakarta were held as a vehicle to raise the potential of ulin wood which is increasingly scarce because most of it is only used for construction and shipbuilding purposes that are wasteful of raw materials. The result of the collaboration is an eco print with typical motifs that can be an alternative souvenir of Central Maluku, for example the motif of nutmeg leaves or eucalyptus leaves which are very abundant. Ecoprint is processed using natural colouring materials so it is safe for the environment and involves local communities, creating adequate employment opportunities.
KAGAMA through Sunrise Land Lombok also provided assistance for Tourism Village Development and Conservation Training in East Lombok Regency. This assistance shows the seriousness of Sunrise Land Lombok managers to develop scientific tourism destinations in East Lombok Regency into a form of development from alumni to local community activities.
