UGM and Angkasa Pura I Collaborate in Advancing MSMEs

Director of Community Service, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. Ir. Irfan Dwidya Prijambada, M.Eng., Ph.D., together with a team from Director of Community Service UGM on Monday (20/7) visited PT Angkasa Pura I Yogyakarta International Airport. This visit was intended to establish cooperation to develop Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta and its surroundings.

In his statement to reporters on Monday (27/7), Irfan said that his party wanted to build cooperation between PT Angkasa Pura I Yogyakarta and the Directorate of Community Service UGM in developing MSMEs. According to him, the Directorate of Community Service UGM currently has many MSMEs scattered in Yogyakarta, Purworejo, Magelang, Klaten, and several other locations in Central Java. “Currently, coaching is carried out through the Student Community Service Programs, appropriate technology, assisted villages, other coaching activities, workshops, training, and business meetings,” he said.

This collaboration will further encourage the improvement of the performance and productivity of MSME actors through services, mentoring, and coaching on product quality improvement, marketing, partnership networks, and community empowerment.

General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I Yogyakarta, Agus Pandu Purnama, welcomed the cooperation. He conveyed that PT Angkasa Pura I, together with State-Owned Enterprises and Regional-Owned Enterprises coordinated to develop MSMEs, especially in Yogyakarta and its surroundings. As a commitment to developing MSMEs, PT Angkasa Pura I Yogyakarta and the Yogyakarta Regional Government have provided incentives in the form of exemption from tenant rental fees. The rental fee exemption incentive is given specifically for micro-business actors who pass the curation.

In particular, Pandu said that Angkasa Pura I had prepared a place in a strategic and premium location covering an area of ​​1,500 square meters dedicated to media promotions and workshops for at least 300 MSMEs. Besides, there are also several areas between the parking lot and the main terminal area intended to display MSME products. “MSMEs which will occupy the area after being curated by the Department of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Yogyakarta as the appointed partner to organize the MSMEs,” he said.
