UGM Showcases 9 Electric Vehicles Around Yogya

Nine electric vehicles or cars from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta are exhibited to the public with a parade around the City of Gudeg, Sunday, February 18, 2018. The parade is expected to increase the spirit of developing future vehicles to produce domestic products. Which was part of the 72nd Engineering Higher Education Day, was attended by 9 vehicles consisting of 4 electric cars, namely Semar 1, Semar 2, ICA, and Arjuna. Then 1 electric motorcycle, 2 electric rickshaws, and 2 electric bicycles. We want to publish UGM which Supports the Vehicle of the Future of Electric Cars. Introducing it to the wider community.

UGM electric cars continue to be developed. Moreover, so far, oil-fueled vehicles are considered to have fluctuating prices. “Besides, it also causes air pollution. The price is high and volatile,” 

Ade Pratama, a technician from UGM’s electric car, said that one of the paraded cars was an advanced program from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) in 2014. However, the team from UGM could only open the display and then return. 

UGM electric car which has been working for the past six months, most of its components are still important. Only the battery management system can be made. “Its function is to check the condition of the battery whether it is feasible to operate or not,” he said.
